As of November 10, 2025, ADOC no longer accepts personal mail sent directly to any facility. All personal mail must be sent to the ADOC Mail Processing Center in San Antonio, Texas. The mailing address is: Inmate Name, Inmate AIS Number, P.O. Box 17339, San Antonio, TX 78217. Mail sent directly to a facility after November 10, 2025 is returned to the sender. Include the inmate AIS number on every envelope or the mail will not be processed.

Alabama is not among the states that have eliminated phone call fees. Securus Technologies holds the ADOC contract for most state facilities. Under FCC rules effective April 6, 2026, per-minute rates for inmate calls are now federally capped.
