Virginia Beach Correctional Center Inmate Communication Overview
The Virginia Beach Correctional Center is the city jail in Virginia Beach, Virginia, operated by the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office. It houses around 1,400 pretrial and sentenced inmates and is one of the largest local jails in the Hampton Roads region.
The sheriff's office contracts with GTL for both the inmate phone system and the video visitation system. Families fund GTL phone accounts through ConnectNetwork so the inmate can call them, and video visits are scheduled through the GTL visit system, including web-based visits from home.
Visitors must be on the inmate's approved list and schedule visits in advance. All calls and video visits are monitored and recorded except legal communications. Families should confirm current visitation hours on the sheriff's website before planning a visit.
