How ConnectNetwork Works

ConnectNetwork offers electronic messaging, phone call account management, video visitation, money transfer to inmate accounts, and at some facilities, photo sharing. It is a multi-service platform, similar to JPay.

Because GTL is one of the largest prison phone providers, ConnectNetwork is often the platform managing phone accounts at facilities where Securus or another GTL product handles the phones.

Go to connectnetwork.com or download the ConnectNetwork app. Register with your email address, full name, and phone number. After registration, search for the inmate by name and facility to add them to your account.

Contact approval typically requires either the inmate to add you or a brief review period on the platform's end. Setup is similar to JPay and takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

ConnectNetwork messaging works on a credit system. You purchase credits and spend them to send messages. The cost per message varies by facility and state. Credits can be purchased in bundles through the website or app.

Messages are reviewed before delivery. Delivery time is typically within a few hours to one business day.

Many families use ConnectNetwork primarily to manage their phone account. If the facility's phone calls go through GTL, you set up a prepaid account on ConnectNetwork or the related GTL platform to receive calls at a prepaid rate.

Money transfers through ConnectNetwork are processed to the inmate's trust account. Processing fees apply. The same inmate ID and legal name requirements apply as with any other platform.
