JPay stamps are virtual credits used to send electronic messages through the JPay platform at state prison facilities. Each standard text message requires one stamp. Stamps cost between $0.33 and $0.47 each depending on the state. Photo attachments require one additional stamp per image. Stamps are purchased in bundles and do not expire. JPay stamps are only used for messaging and cannot be applied to money transfers or other services.
A family purchases a bundle of 10 JPay stamps at $0.40 each for $4.00. They use one stamp to send a text message and one stamp to attach a photo, using two stamps total for that message.
