High Desert State Prison

High Desert State Prison is a maximum-security state correctional facility operated by the Nevada Department of Corrections, located in Indian Springs in Clark County, roughly 45 miles northwest of Las Vegas on US-95. Opened in 2012, it is the largest prison in Nevada by capacity and houses adult male inmates at maximum-security and medium-security levels. The facility sits in the Mojave Desert landscape of southern Nevada, near the Nevada Test and Training Range. Indian Springs is a small community with limited services, and the prison is the dominant employer in the area.

Communication at High Desert State Prison operates through Nevada DOC provider contracts. JPay handles electronic messaging, photo sharing, and money transfers. Families create a JPay account, add the inmate using their Nevada DOC number, and purchase stamps to begin correspondence. GTL manages phone calls and video visitation under the NDOC statewide contract.
