Fresno County Jail Inmate Communication Overview
The Fresno County Jail, centered on the Main Detention Facility in downtown Fresno, is operated by the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and houses pretrial detainees and sentenced inmates for the county. The jail complex includes the main facility and the north and south annex jails.
Since April 5, 2021, Global Tel Link (GTL), doing business as ViaPath, has been the provider for incarcerated person phone services at the Fresno County Jail, replacing Legacy Inmate Communications. Families add money to a GTL/ViaPath account through ConnectNetwork online or by calling 1-800-483-8314. The Sheriff's Office warns not to place money with Legacy, since it is no longer a telephone provider for the jail.
Under California law, newly booked arrestees get at least three free local calls at booking: one to an attorney, one to a bail bond agent, and one to a relative or other contact. After booking, phones in housing units are generally available from 8:00 am to 9:45 pm, and all calls are subject to recording and monitoring.
